Lieutenant Colonel Tamara Lee graduated from James Cook University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy shortly before her first military deployment as a Lieutenant to Pakistan to provide humanitarian aid to those affected by the devastating October 2005 earthquake.

From 2007 to 2015, Tamara was posted to the Joint Environment in support of operations including the Defence National Storage and Distribution Centre, the Defence Material Organisation and Joint Health Command. In 2016, she shifted to the Navy Group where she assisted in the setup of hospitals in the Landing Helicopter Docks, HMAS Canberra and HMAS Adelaide.

Returning from the Middle East Area of Operations to take up the post of Senior Army Pharmacist in Canberra, Tamara is now the Chief Pharmacist for the Australian Defence Force. During the COVID-19 pandemic Tamara and her team supported the ADF, Department of Health and Australian Border Force to manage and co-ordinate Australia’s response with respect to PPE, medical equipment hardware and scientific equipment.
