Professor Kirsten Bell

Kirsten Bell first graduated from James Cook University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours with a University Medal, majoring in Anthropology, before graduating again in 2000 with a Doctor of Philosophy.

Completing the fieldwork component of her PhD in South Korea, she has held academic appointments around the world, most recently as a Professor of Social Anthropology at University of Roehampton. This extends upon positions at the University of British Columbia, Macquarie University and the University of Northern Colorado.

Her research is situated in the field of anthropology of health and medicine, with a particular focus on public health. She has 60 peer-reviewed publications and was awarded a Visiting Research Fellowship for the Brocher Foundation in Switzerland in 2012.
