Susan Kinobe

Susan Kinobe is a distinguished professional whose career and community contributions epitomize excellence and leadership. With a Bachelor of Commerce from James Cook University, Susan began her career at Ernst & Young as a Trainee Accountant. She progressed to key roles, including Senior Financial Reporting Officer at Queen's University in Canada, where she was the first Australian to hold such a position, and later, Deputy Director of Finance at James Cook University.

Currently, Susan serves as the General Manager for the North Region at TAFE Queensland, a historic appointment as the first Townsville-based individual in this role. Her leadership has driven significant improvements, including a $10 million revenue growth, a 9% increase in student enrolments, and securing over $100 million in funding for infrastructure projects. Susan's innovative strategies and commitment have positioned TAFE Queensland as a key player in regional education and training.

Susan's accolades include being a Fellow Certified Practicing Accountant (FCPA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders (FIML). She is also a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD). Her leadership extends beyond her professional life, having volunteered extensively, including roles with Ronald McDonald House North Australia and as a Basketball Technical Official at the Sydney 2000 Olympics.

Born with Erb's Palsy, Susan overcame early life challenges to become an inspirational figure. Her advocacy for First Nations communities and her role as TAFE Queensland's Champion for the Pride Network and Reconciliation Action Plan exemplify her dedication to social equity.
