Ross Andrews is a proud Djungan and Yalanji man from Far North Queensland, who graduated from JCU with a Bachelor of Business in 2019. With over 30 years of service to his community, Ross has held several influential roles, including Chief Executive Officer, Mayor of Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council (2016-2024), and has contributed to numerous Indigenous-focused boards and organizations.

Ross's leadership in advancing Indigenous rights and community development is highlighted by his involvement in the Voice to Parliament Referendum Engagement Group and the Yarrabah Leadership Forum. His work to empower First Nations communities through initiatives like the Yarrabah Community Deal and sustainable infrastructure projects has had lasting social and economic impact.

An advocate for self-determination and innovative governance, Ross has played a pivotal role in promoting Indigenous-led tourism and business initiatives through the Tropical North Queensland First Nations Tourism Reference Group. His efforts in enhancing local services, such as telecommunications, water supply, and education, demonstrate his ability to create lasting change.
