If you receive an ATAR of 90 or above you are guaranteed entry into most JCU courses with all subject prerequisites waived.
Applicants awarded an ATAR of 73 or above will be guaranteed entry into most JCU courses but will need to meet the course subject prerequisites.
The Guaranteed Admissions Plan is open to all domestic and international applicants completing Year 12 in Australia.
Most of JCU’s courses are included which covers off on study areas like Arts, Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Law, Pharmacy, Science, and Sport and Exercise Science.

Your QTAC application listing JCU as one of your six preferences, and your Year 12 results, will determine your eligibility for this plan. This means you don’t need to submit a separate application.
Applications to study at JCU in 2024 will open through QTAC on 1 August 2023.

You are only eligible for the Guaranteed Admissions Plan based on your Year 12 results before any adjustment factors, such as the Regional Preference Scheme, are applied.
The Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) operates a centralised tertiary application service. QTAC assess applications using entry requirements that are provided by JCU and then make offers to successful applicants during offer rounds.
If you finish Year 12 with a Certificate III or a Certificate IV qualification you are guaranteed entry into a number of JCU undergraduate courses.
Some courses require additional subject prerequisites are met. These prerequisites may include subjects such as English, Maths or Science. Subject prerequisites are detailed in the Handbook found on each course page. Speak to us about your desired course and its entry options.
