Cyber Security Awareness Month 2025

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month at JCU! This year’s  message is Building our cyber safe culture-a chance for staff and students to learn, share, and have a little fun while strengthening the habits that keep us secure.

History
Cyber Security Awareness Month began in 2004 in the United States, launched by the Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance to promote safer online practices.Since then, it has grown into a global initiative, with universities, governments, and organisations around the world using October each year to highlight cyber threats, share resources, and encourage safer habits.

JCU participates each year as part of our commitment to building our cyber safe culture.
