The Tropics is home to the vast majority of biological diversity on earth. Its forests, savannahs, coastlines and coral reefs. Tropical forests cover less than 10% of all land area yet house two thirds of Earth’s biodiversity.
There are far more species in the Tropics than the rest of the world but also, a greater proportion of species are considered threatened in the Tropics.
