📢 Important Notice

GoSoapBox Service Update (Effective 1 April 2025)

GoSoapBox — a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) student response system — will no longer be available after 1 April 2025.

This tool has supported active learning and in-class engagement by allowing students to participate in polls, quizzes, and discussions using Wi-Fi-enabled devices (e.g. laptops, tablets, smartphones). Features such as the Confusion Barometer helped educators gauge student understanding in real time, with options to export data for follow-up analysis.

You can continue to promote interactive learning and student engagement using the following supported tools:

  • H5P Multipolls
    A flexible tool to combine multiple polls and interactive content (e.g. word clouds, emoji reactions, MCQs) into one activity. Responses display live and can be shared in person or online.

  • H5P Word Cloud
    A real-time audience response tool where students respond to a question by typing or selecting a word. Their answers appear in a dynamic visual cloud on screen—great for brainstorming, reflections, and gauging class sentiment.

  • H5P Emoji Cloud
    An engaging, emoji-based, live polling tool where students react to a question using emojis. Perfect for quick pulse checks, gauging understanding, or adding a bit of fun to lectures and workshops.

  • Live Poll in Padlet
    A simple and visual polling tool where students vote anonymously in real time. Ideal for quick feedback or knowledge checks during classes.

  • LearnJCU Knowledge Checks
    Lightweight, embedded quizzes built directly into LearnJCU content. Great for reinforcing understanding and giving instant feedback.
