Facilities
Open Mondays – Fridays from 9am-6pm (Building 131)
The Multifaith Centre has spaces to pray and reflect, gather and talk, run events and activities, or to have a lunch spot to help you relax. There are male and female toilets (& bidets), shower facilities, a kitchen and a cold water fountain. Please sign in at the clipboard on the whiteboard and take time to look over the noticeboard.
Take a walk down the hallway to see: a range of faith resources, a bookswap area, a cupboard with Yoga mats and Prayer rugs that can be used and a Chapel space to just sit quietly.
There are multiple rooms that can be booked once off for a special event or regularly for a group or weekly activity. There is a ‘Lounge room’ (7 seats), a ‘Meeting room’ (8-12 seats with a big table and a whiteboard) and a ‘Conference room’ (10-25 seats with 4 tables and a whiteboard). All rooms are air-conditioned. Feel free to just use a space if no one has booked it for that time when you have a look or put in a formal request.
Chaplain
Available Mondays 1pm-6pm, Wednesdays 9am-2:30pm and Thursdays 2pm-5pm
Our Multifaith Chaplain is available to listen as you talk, reflect, question and seek spiritual support and to help you connect with others you can journey with.
Jess Schwartz
Jess Schwartz has been our Multifaith Chaplain since early 2022. She has a range of chaplaincy experience from numerous primary schools in Townsville and a couple of high schools within 2007-2021. She studied at James Cook University to complete her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in psychology and enjoys seeing people find hope, peace and joy in life.
Jess is married with 2 young boys, has a couple of dogs, 3 chickens and a duck at home that helps balance work and her rugby union commitments. For most of her life she has lived in Townsville but also knows the feeling of moving cities and starting fresh.
