Richard Knuckey

Dr Richard Knuckey commenced his aquaculture career with a biotechnology company that developed and then commercialized one of the world’s largest intensive algal farms producing pharmaceutical-grade algal carotenoids, before taking up the position as Principal Scientist for the Queensland Government’s Tropical Marine Finfish project in Cairns. In this role he directed the development of grouper aquaculture in Australia, closing the breeding and hatchery biology of a range of grouper species.

In 2013 he transitioned the government R&D to a private commercial company, where he is the Managing Director. Dr Knuckey’s role in the project will be to provide scientific leadership and oversight in the R&D activities related to The Company One.
