A global career
From volunteering in Madagascar to studying a Master of Public Health – Master of Global Development in North Queensland, JCU international student Risa Tsuchiya shares how she experienced building connections across continents.
Local voices, national conversations
After completing her PhD at JCU, Gugu Badhun/Ngadjon-ji researcher and academic Dr Janine Gertz was awarded a prestigious Stanner Award — a national biennial prize that recognises her thesis as the best academic writing by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander author.
International study adventure
After setting their sights on an international study adventure, six JCU students found a new perspective on the Pacific when travelling to Tahiti as part of a French language immersion excursion. Senior Lecturer Dr Florence Boulard, who organised the trip together with the JCU Global Experience team, shares some highlights.
