Biography

Michael James Spearman is the owner and operator of a law firm based in Townsville. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business from James Cook University and brings a practical blend of legal insight and commercial acumen to his practice. He is a perpetual member of the James Cook University Alumni, admitted to the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Michael has significant experience in rural businesses, having owned and managed cane and banana farming operations. This background in rural ventures has contributed to a well-rounded and pragmatic approach to leadership, business management and client service.


As a community leader, Michael serves as the Chairman of the Townsville Hockey Judiciary, where he oversees disciplinary processes and upholds the integrity of the sport. He is also a member of the Tourism and Sport Racing Policy Committee, contributing his expertise to policy development that supports local tourism, sport and community engagement.
Michael resides in Townsville with his family. He and his family are long-time supporters of local sport. He is passionate about leveraging professional skills and community to foster a vibrant, inclusive sporting environment and a thriving local economy. Michael maintains a strong commitment to the community and maintains a solid focus on contributing positively beyond his professional responsibilities.
