Submitting Your Application to an Executive Advisor
The role of the Executive Advisor (EA) is to provide independent ethical review, identify potential concerns, and offer constructive feedback to support a high-quality, rigorous review process, while also reviewing draft applications and advising on ethical requirements to help researchers strengthen their submissions, address potential issues proactively, and reduce delays in formal HREC review. Researchers are recommended to engage actively with this process, as this additional review step further enhances application quality, ensures ethical requirements are thoroughly addressed, and can significantly streamline subsequent HREC assessment.
Before submitting your Human Research Ethics application, contact the EA to confirm their availability. Submit your complete application after this availability is confirmed. Please note that until the application shows as "with Ethics Office" in GECO, the Ethics Team will not be aware of the submission. Researchers are expected to engage with EAs directly regarding their application, and follow up as needed, while applications remain under review.
