Responsible for the identification and execution of Strategic Sourcing Projects, ensuring relevant Business Unit support.

The key accountabilities of the role include:

Delivery of savings targets by assisting in category strategy development, category strategy implementation, risk management; end to end value chain enhancement, market and cost based analysis, strategic cost reduction/avoidance projects, business case preparation, project management and senior stakeholder management.

The planning, execution and finalization of strategic sourcing projects; including the Identification, planning, project management and co-ordination of necessary legal, financial and Subject Matter Expert resources to ensure appropriate contractual outcomes.

Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that any issues or opportunities that are identified through contact with suppliers, wider market intelligence activities or expert advice are addressed in a timely manner so the best commercial outcomes are achieved.

Implementing risk mitigation strategies to proactively manage problems arising from sourcing/procurement contracts.

Developing commercial frameworks commensurate with reducing costs, driving value, deliverables, maintaining ongoing flexibility and healthy relationships with vendors and track results of effort.

Executing and finalizing commercial negotiations of new and existing supplier contracts.

Interfacing with other universities to obtain knowledge of Procurement performance and process benchmarks and standards.
