Mental Health in the COVID-19 Pandemic

Invited by the Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand as a featured speaker, A/Prof Wendy Li delivered two presentations at the 19th Annual International Mental Health Conference entitled “Mental Health in the COVID-19 Pandemic”.

In her presentation of “National cohesion, cultural resources and mental health in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic”, A/Prof Li discussed the protective role that filial piety plays for people to maintain mental health in Asian countries during the COVID-19 public health crisis.

A/Prof Li, in the presentation of “Mental Health Challenges: Supporting older people through the COVID-19 pandemic”, discussed the importance of  collaborations at macro-, messo- and micro-levels to support older people who are particularly vulnerable to psychological distress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
