Mackay Base Hospital student accommodation for James Cook University (JCU) consists of 20 fully air-conditioned self-catering rooms over two levels available in four accommodation pods of five bedrooms.

Rooms are fully furnished with king single bed, student desk and chair, bookcase, tub chairs and coffee table. Shared bathroom facilities, large shared kitchen and living areas with full kitchen facilities and furnishings. Students are required to provide their own bedding (pillows, sheets, blankets, bedspread/doona). Students are not permitted to bring any personal furniture without prior permission from the Accommodation Manager.

JCU provides internet services direct into the rooms at the Mackay Base Hospital (MBH). Off street parking provided for students in-residence.

The accommodation is walking distance to the MBH, Mackay School of Medicine and Dentistry Clinical School and Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens.
