As a graduate of JCU you can access a range of benefits from JCU.
Students who successfully graduate from their course at JCU are granted Alumni status with the University and are entitled to retain access to their @my.jcu.edu.au email account.
You can continue to borrow items from the JCU Library after completing your studies. You might use these to support your career, your professional development, or life-long learning goals.
Alumni are offered Community Borrower membership of the Cairns and Townsville libraries. This means you can borrow up to 20 items for three weeks at a time. Get started by completing the membership registration form.
JCU Alumni can register to access content from the ProQuest database and the National Geographic Archive (1888 - 1994).
Alternatively you can take advantage of freely available Open Access resources and Google Scholar that often provide links to free full text content.
As a registered alumni user of the Library you will gain access to:
ProQuest: a collection of databases that can be searched individually or together to find citations to articles from about 7,400 journals and the full text of the articles from about 5,500 of these titles. The database includes:

- Canada's reference and current events - scholarly journal articles, trade publications, dissertations, books, newspapers and magazines

National Geographic Archive 1888-1994: National Geographic has partnered with Gale Cengage to digitise and bring together the complete archive of this iconic magazine. The archive provides easy searching of all feature articles, maps, images and advertisements from every issue printed between 1888 and 1994.

The JCU CareerHub provides graduates with access to the following online resources:

Additionally new graduates can can get support from the Careers and Employability team for job applications and career planning for a year after they graduate.

All JCU graduates, recipients of honorary awards, Council members and those individuals who are invited to join by the University Council will automatically become members of the Convocation and will be added to the roll of the Convocation unless they decide to opt-out and become an inactive member. To opt out of Convocation membership simply send an email to alumni@jcu.edu.au.
JCU has partnered with The School Locker to enable JCU staff, students and alumni to purchase resources and merchandise, including JCU-branded T-Shirts, water bottles, graduation gifts, lab coats and scrubs.
Purchases can now be made from The School Locker website, or from The School Locker superstore, located at Domain Central – Townsville.
Whilst the product range is presently small, JCU will continue to work with The School Locker to grow the range and variety of merchandise and other branded products available for sale.
