Julie undertakes technical research activities in relation to the detection of pathogens in the black tiger prawn and other aquaculture species, along with analyses to determine DNA-based parentage. She conducts molecular-based pathogen detection assays for prawn diseases; microsatellite and SNP based DNA parentage determination; entry into databases; report writing; industry liaison and routine laboratory sampling.
