Students thrive on Sea Country

JCU ATSIMS program is continuing to inspire the next generation of First Nations marine scientists with almost 70 north Queensland high school students graduating from the program. Over 30 science teachers and Indigenous support staff participated alongside students in the program.

The Reef Authority's education team is proud to partner with James Cook University (JCU) for the 'Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders in Marine Science' (ATSIMS) Program—an outreach initiative providing First Nations Year 10 students in North Queensland with opportunities to engage in marine science, marine management and Sea Country stewardship.
