Additional Facility-Specific Online Learning Requirements

Many healthcare facilities require students to complete additional online learning requirements prior to commencing their PEP. Additional, facility-specific requirements are included on the Health Placements’ Nursing and Midwifery preparing for PEP information webpage.  Generally, online orientation and learning activities (where applicable) must be completed 2 weeks prior to PEP commencement.

A failure to complete facility-specific online learning requirements may result in the healthcare facility deciding to stand the student down until their online learning is complete. This decision is however at the facility’s discretion and is based on facility policy, staffing requirements, orientation needs etc. If the facility does cancel the student’s PEP due to failure to complete online learning requirements, the decision is considered final and cannot be overruled by the university. This will result in an unsatisfactory PEP grade.
