Biography

Michael was a Partner at BDO (Nth Qld) and previous associated accounting firms in Cairns for 33 years before retiring in 2020. He has Bachelors of Science and Commerce from the University of Queensland and a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Studies (Accounting) from Monash University. He is a Chartered Accountant and had been a long-term Member of the Institute of Company Directors.

Michael has been involved in the community in Cairns being a previous President of the Cairns Amateurs, a Director of Access Community Housing Ltd and recently stood down as a Deputy Chair of Advance Cairns Ltd. He knows how important JCU is to North Queensland in producing quality graduates.
