Stakeholder Organisations

Relevant stakeholder organisations will be invited to participate in interviews with members of the research team.

It is intended that these interviews will provide insight into the experiences, perspectives and understandings of those providing legal and/or legal support services to Indigenous clients from the nominated project sites.

Stakeholder organisations will be selected on the basis of their direct role in civil and family law service provision (or associated support services) to Indigenous clients residing on the selected communities.

Stakeholder organisations identified for interview each jurisdiction may include:

  • Aboriginal Legal Services

  • Legal Aid Commission staff (solicitors, field officers and support staff)

  • Community Legal Centre staff

  • Private solicitors

  • Indigenous Court Support staff

  • Indigenous family violence prevention legal service staff

  • Indigenous family violence advocacy services (including women’s refuges)

  • Aboriginal Medical Services

  • Financial Counsellors

  • Welfare agencies

  • Counsellors assisting with family breakdown
