History of the prize
This prize was founded in 2014 and maintained with donations from the family of the late Professor Lal Chand Wadhwa. Professor Wadhwa was head of department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at James Cook University for more than 30 years. The prize is awarded to the student who achieves the highest overall GPA in the 2nd year of Civil Engineering with the Bachelor of Engineering degree.
