History of the prize
This prize was founded in 1988 with a capital donation from Emeritus Professor Colin Roderick, Foundation Professor of English at James Cook University. The prize is awarded to the Bachelor of Arts who has achieved the highest grade in the subject EL2047 Children's Literature.
