George Herring Prize in Education

History of the prize

This prize was founded in 1986 with an endowment from colleagues, friends and former students of George Robert Herring to perpetuate his memory and to commemorate his services to teaching at James Cook University and in North Queensland high schools. The prize is awarded to the Education student who has demonstrated the best overall performance in the final year of preservice teacher education in the Bachelor of Education.
