Intercampus Service

The Library offers an Intercampus Service that allows clients (staff, students and community borrowers) to access the full range of books, journals and specialised material housed in each campus library (with some exceptions as listed below).

Books

Items on loan or located on another campus in Australia, may be reserved by placing a hold request.

Journal Article Requests

Complete the Document Copy Request Form for articles in print journals not held at the requestor campus for Cairns, Townsville and Singapore clients.   (Not available to JCU Brisbane)

Book chapters

Chapters in a print book not available at your location will be scanned for Singapore staff and students only. Please complete the Document Copy Request Form.

Cairns and Townsville clients should place a hold request on the item.

Non-borrowable Collection Requests

The following material is available to Cairns and Townsville based clients only and cannot be removed from the Library.

  • Microform

  • Items held in the North Queensland Collection and the Shaw Collection*

  • Items held in the Reference collection

  • Theses not held at the requestor campus

  • Journals located in Townsville Store for both Cairns and Townsville clients

Non-borrowable Collection requests are made by completing the Document Copy Request Form.

Requests for certain fragile items may be refused. Material from the Rare Book Collection, Library Archives Collection, NQ Photographic Collection, NQ Oral History Collection, and the JCU Art Collection are not available through the intercampus service.

*All requests for material from Special Collections to travel to another campus library must be approved by the Special Collections Librarian.
