Andrew Anderson is a lawyer who operates Anderson Legal, a law firm with a focus on employment law, work health and safety, as well as data and privacy issues.

Mr Anderson graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Economics - Bachelor of Laws with Honours in 2006.

During his Economics and Law degree, Mr Anderson's thesis was co-supervised by the Aboriginal leader, Noel Pearson.

Following his graduation from James Cook University, Mr Anderson joined the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Queensland (ODPP). He worked as a barrister for six years, both with the ODPP and in private practice within 8 Petrie Terrace Chambers. Mr Anderson was first appointed a Crown Prosecutor in Queensland at age 22, Senior Crown Prosecutor at age 24, and finally a Principal Crown Prosecutor at age 26.

Mr Anderson has appeared as leading counsel in numerous criminal trials in the Supreme and District Courts in Queensland, including for charges of murder and drug trafficking, as well as violent and sexual offences. As a barrister, he appeared as junior counsel to the Solicitor-General of Queensland and the Director of Public Prosecutions in a number of successful appeals in the High Court of Australia. He also appeared as leading counsel in a number of appeals in the Court of Appeal.

After ceasing to be a barrister to operate a law firm, Mr Anderson has been involved in a number of high-profile cases as a solicitor. This includes overturning a wrongful murder conviction in the High Court of Australia (Fennell v The Queen [2019] HCA 37). As a solicitor, he represented numerous survivors before the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

Mr Anderson now operates a boutique firm devoted to resolving complex workplace and regulatory challenges for businesses, executives and employees.
