2021 Early Career College Recipient, College of Arts, Society and Education
Matija began her academic journey to provide a brighter future for herself and her family. Despite the stigma of being a teen parent and the hardship that followed, she chose to challenge the stereotypes and prove that anyone is capable and worthy of an education.
Matija decided to study a dual degree in Business Management and Arts/Languages. During her studies she completed an exchange program in Japan, where she participated in an entrepreneurship program, which became the inspiration behind launching her first start-up in 2017.
Fast forward to today and Matija is an executive consultant for multinational companies, a start-up mentor, researcher and lecturer. She was inducted into the Universal Business School Sydney as a fellow of the Centre of Entrepreneurship, sharing her industry expertise with future entrepreneurs.
Matija has worked across Japan, the USA and the Philippines, serving two terms as a board director of the Australia Philippines Business Council. She is an accomplished lecturer, speaker, mentor and Chief Operating Officer of The Paradigm Effect, who has found a new way forward for herself and her family through the life-changing gateway of education.
Matija believes that your circumstances should never dictate your potential, no matter where you begin, everyone is worthy of defining their own future.
Matija Squire graduated James Cook University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts – Bachelor of Business.
