Dr Callan Wesley

Dr. Callan Wesley is an experienced cardiovascular researcher with a strong background in rodent models of hypertension, Marfan syndrome, myocardial infarction, and abdominal aortic aneurysm. He trained at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) in safety pharmacology and has extensive expertise in laboratory animal techniques, including microsurgery, anaesthesia, drug delivery, ultrasonography, and tissue collection. Dr. Wesley is certified in a wide range of procedures-such as oral gavage, intraperitoneal and subcutaneous injections, tail-vein blood collection, and tissue collection under strict compliance with animal welfare regulations. Currently, he contributes to ongoing studies within the QRCPVD group since joining in May 2025, gaining further experience in advanced imaging (ultrasound, laser Doppler) and surgical models of peripheral vascular disease, with a focus on translating preclinical insights into enhanced therapeutic strategies and improved treatment efficacy for vascular disease.
