Dr Reshma Shakya

Reshma is a Clinical Research Coordinator with the Queensland Research Centre for Peripheral Vascular Disease (QRC-PVD), where she coordinates clinical trials across peripheral vascular disease and contributes to implementation research in diabetic foot disease.
She brings over a decade of experience leading clinical and translational research across hospitals, universities, and medical research institutes. Her expertise spans clinical trial operations, research governance, ethics, regulatory compliance, quality systems, and audit and compliance monitoring, with a strong focus on developing, implementing, and strengthening research governance frameworks and clinical research systems within healthcare. Throughout her career, she has established and managed investigator-initiated research programs and registries; led quality improvement initiatives aligned with the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework; and provided governance oversight for commercially sponsored and collaborative clinical trials.
Reshma holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Adelaide and is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (Faculty of Science).
