Fahmida Begum Mina joined QRCPVD in March 2026 as a PhD student, where she investigates the role of diet, inflammation, and nutritional status in cardiovascular diseases, with a particular focus on peripheral artery disease (PAD). Her research integrates cardiovascular epidemiology with molecular and biomarker-based approaches to better understand disease mechanisms and clinical outcomes. As part of her doctoral work, Fahmida conducts systematic reviews and meta-analyses, designs observational studies, and performs statistical and data-driven analyses, alongside contributing to academic publications. She holds a Master of Science in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and has a background in molecular biology, with extensive experience in techniques including DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and Sanger sequencing, as well as bioinformatics and mutation analysis. Her previous research includes investigating LDLR gene mutations in young myocardial infarction (YMI) patients, contributing to COVID-19 molecular diagnostics using RT-qPCR, and bioinformatics approaches. Fahmida brings interdisciplinary expertise across molecular biology, clinical research, and epidemiology, aiming to generate insights that improve cardiovascular disease prevention and patient outcomes.
