Inclusive and Accessible-Friendly Spaces

Designed for Students, by Students

James Cook University is expanding student‑led wellbeing and learning initiatives through two new inclusive spaces designed by and for students. The Reset Room offers a calm, Queenslander‑inspired environment where students can rest, regulate and take a break from study pressures, with every feature shaped through student feedback and funded by SSAF. At the same time, several teaching spaces across Townsville and Cairns have been refreshed with accessible-friendly furniture, adjustable lighting and movement‑supportive options to help every student learn in the way that suits them best. Both initiatives reflect JCU’s commitment to comfort, accessibility and choice on campus.
