Disaster Solutions—based at James Cook University—is a consortium of multi-disciplinary expertise and world-class capabilities. Our mission is to prevent and reduce the damages from disasters, with specialised expertise in the tropics. We offer a spectrum of disaster solutions, from prevention and preparedness to response and recovery. Our work emphasises disaster risk reduction and resiliency, however, to more effectively anticipate and mitigate impacts. We provide a wholistic and integrated approach, addressing the built, social, natural, and economic environments. Our clients include a range of agencies, organisations, and industries.
