Our Facilities

Facilities include the new state-of-the-art AITHM laboratories in Cairns,  Townsville, and Thursday Island Facility, The Science Place in Townsville, the JCU Cairns Aquarium, as well as other JCU laboratories.

Infrastructure includes a range of PC2 laboratories, PC3 laboratory, quarantine approved premises, custom-built wet-land filtered aquarium, insectories, animal facilities, biobank, clinical suites, and translational research laboratories.

These house a wide range of cutting-edge biomolecular equipment to move research from basic science through to translation, commercialisation and impact

This ensures that the Centre benefits from substantial expertise in the discovery and development of novel therapeutics, as well as from the researchers’ proven capacity to deliver on research aims.
