Business Liaison Association's 'Breakfast with the Law' Welcomed Cairns Legal Studies Students
The Business Liaison Association (BLA) hosted a dynamic event, 'The Breakfast with the Law,' at the Rydges Esplanade Resort in Cairns on Friday, 28th July. Proudly sponsored by James Cook University the gathering brought together approximately 200 high school Legal Studies students for a morning of insightful discussions and engaging activities.
The highlight of the event was the annual Great Debate, skilfully facilitated by Professor Anthony Gray. The debate, featuring fiery discussions on topics such as affirmative action, captivated the audience of young legal minds. Guest speakers, including Mr. Beau Foley, President of Qld Young Lawyers, and Ms. Rhiannon Dudley, Secretary of Qld Young Lawyers, addressed the theme of "Breaking the Myths of Becoming a Lawyer," providing valuable insights into the legal profession.
The event served as a platform for students to gain a deeper understanding of the possibilities and opportunities that come with studying and pursuing a career in law. The BLA's efforts in organising this significant gathering were acknowledged and appreciated, as students left the event enlightened and inspired by the wealth of information shared.
