JCU's Internet of Things department has established relationships with a range of organisations. The most prominent organisations it works with include:

Huawei is a leading global provider of information and communications technology infrastructure and smart devices. The company is a valuable industry partner of JCU IoT, providing the technology featured in the NBIoT lab and teaching spaces. The lab allows students to train using the very latest equipment that conforms to the IoT international standard. The company also provides direct funding for specialised research and opportunities for JCU IoT students to travel to the company's headquarters in China and Australia as part of its Seeds for the Future program.

Energy Queensland is a Government Owned Corporation that provides the connection and supply of electricity to 2.3 million customers across metropolitan and regional Queensland. They aim to deliver secure, affordable and sustainable energy solutions to customers and communities.

Optus Australia is a leading telecommunications company with a mobile network that reaches 98.5% of the Australian population. It  aims to improve the connectivity of communities through digital technology while simultaneously reducing energy use and its carbon footprint. One of the joint projects JCU IoT and Optus have worked on is a project to produce wearable IoT networks for person-centred healthcare, allowing people to monitor their health conditions in real time.

Software AG, is headquartered in Germany and is the creator of the world's first Digital Business Platform, connecting applications, data and devices. The company's Cumulocity IoT platform is a leader in IoT app enablement.
