3D Pollen

The advancement of printed 3D models in recent years offers even more practical methods for us to understand pollen.

The Australian 3D Pollen Project involves imaging and 3D printing twelve different types of pollen, improving the learning experience in classrooms and extending community outreach.

Pollen and Spore Atlas

The Australasian Pollen and Spore Atlas is the largest collection of information on pollen and spores in the region and can be accessed for free online. The collection currently holds details on over 15,000 species.

Quaternary Australasia

Researchers can also access project information through research publications including the earth science journal Quaternary Australasia, which featured VegeMap in July 2024, Volume 41.

Titled Pollen and pedagogy: Dispersing knowledge with VegeMap, the article  provides a synopsis of the project and its components, the relevance of pollen for students and researchers, along with plans to expand community engagement.
