Are you a Year 12 student in Far North Queensland who is interested in a career in Pharmacy? You could be eligible for an award of excellence that will give you extra hands-on experience plus a financial boost to pursue your studies in 2023.
The winner will be awarded part time employment at one of the Alive Pharmacy Warehouse’s in Cairns to coincide with confirmed enrolment in Bachelor of Pharmacy at the JCU Cairns, together with a $1500 bursary.
The runner up will be awarded part time employment at one of the Alive Pharmacy Warehouse’s in Cairns to coincide with confirmed enrolment in Bachelor of Pharmacy at JCU Cairns, together with a $1000 bursary.
To be eligible for this award, you must meet the following criteria:
- Achieve an (A) or (B) in the subjects of English, General Maths (or equivalent) and Chemistry. These results would be based on the predicted Level of Achievement at the end of Year 12.
- Have selected JCU Pharmacy as your first or second preference on your QTAC application.
- Submit a 500-word essay on why you want to study Pharmacy, plus a copy of your most recent school report.
- Be from the FNQ region and available to work in Alive Pharmacies within Cairns.
Please note the following:
- Each school will be invoiced for $88 (GST inc) to cover administrative costs of this award.
- All students who participate will be eligible for a Certificate of Participation.
- All entries must be forwarded to Robyn Cowie by Monday 31 October 2022.
