Luke Tomlin

Luke is working with the Psychology of Active, Healthy Living Group (PAHL) out of the University of Western Australia, where his research aims to improve the design, implementation, and evaluation of workplace health initiatives.

Luke’s PhD focuses of PAHL’s GRIT program, which is a social support, resilience-building, and coping initiative designed for, and with, school teachers. Teaching is a high-stress, high-churn job, and school principals are seeing many burned-out staff leaving the profession. As such, GRIT was developed to support school leaders, supporting staff, teachers and their students as a 'whole-school' commitment to staff wellness and school thriving.

Outside of his PhD research, Luke enjoys lifting heavy objects and placing them back down again and wrestling in his overgrown white pyjamas (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu).
