Primary Advisor Statement

This statement should be completed to support a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Scholarship Application. The Primary Advisor Statement should address the HDR Scholarship Application Assessment Rubric  and will be used to assess scholarship applications.

Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Scholarships are allocated to HDR candidates, based upon the following principles:

  • Scholarships are awarded primarily to enable research training for HDR candidates.
  • Scholarships must be awarded on merit as well as consideration of the full range of pathways and experiences candidates from diverse backgrounds can bring to their HDR candidature at JCU.
  • Scholarships will be allocated in alignment with the JCU Research Strategy.
  • Consideration should be given to advancing underrepresented groups.

Advisors should clearly and directly address each element of the HDR Scholarship Application Assessment Rubric when completing this form.
