How to apply for postgraduate domestic study

Course entry requirements

Each course has its own entry requirements and/or prerequisites. Find your course’s requirements on the course page, under ‘Fast Facts’ within the ‘Entry Requirements’ section.

Application due dates

Check your intended start date on our course pages and the application deadlines for applying directly to JCU.

To ensure a smooth application process, it’s important you gather any relevant documents before you begin. You will also need to have your USI (Unique Student Identifier) ready. If you do not have a USI, you will need to create one before beginning your application.

Typically, you will need to provide the following documents with your application:

• Transcripts and testamurs (degree certificates) for your previous qualifications
• Proof of citizenship or relevant Australian visa (passport or citizenship certificate)

If your name has changed since you obtained your previous qualifications, you’ll also need to provide: 

• Proof of name change (like a marriage certificate)

Once you’re ready to apply, open the JCU Online Application Portal and follow the prompts on the page.

Make sure you upload any required documents before pressing submit.

Once we have your application and supporting documentation, you can expect to hear from us within 3 weeks. We aim to inform you of our decision as quickly as possible.
