You can transfer to JCU in five simple steps, and complete your degree faster by using credit from your previous studies.
Locate to the JCU course page for your preferred degree. Check that you meet the entry requirements, that the application deadline has not passed, and review the commencement dates for the next available intake.
If you are currently studying, or have previously studied at another institution, you will need to supply a copy of your academic transcript. You can usually obtain these by contacting Student Services at the institution.
If possible, you should also ask your current or previous institution for a copy of any available course/subject descriptions, including the syllabus or handbook. These documents will assist you in applying for credit.
Apply for the course you want to transfer into. Click here for more information on how to apply.
Use the credit calculator to see what credit you might be able to transfer from your previous studies. If you can't find any credit listed in the calculator, still apply as we will assess your circumstances individually.
If transferring credit from another institution, you must supply:
- A copy of academic transcript/academic record showing course/subjects completed, completion year and grades obtained, details of grading system used and weighting of the course/subject as portion of total program.
- A copy of the course/subject description including syllabus or Handbook outline.
Complete the Application for Credit form and attach all of the relevant documentation.
We will email you with a credit outcome within 20 business days from the receipt of your application. If you are unsuccessful, you will receive an email informing you of your options.
We will process your application and make sure you meet all the entry requirements. Once you receive an offer, you must formally accept it via the JCU app.
If you are still enrolled in your old course, don't forget to withdraw from it, ideally before census date so you don't get charged for that study period.
Once you have accepted your offer, confirm whether enrolment is open for your course. You will be provided with all the relevant information when you receive your offer.
