Paying your fees
Your Letter of Offer should contain information on the initial fees you are required to pay as part of accepting your offer. These may include a tuition deposit and OSHC, among other fees.
Use one of the two options below to make a payment to JCU.
Pay your fees in your local currency using JCU’s Convera payment portal. The system works through an international telegraphic transfer or you can use a VISA or Mastercard.
You must include your student identification number as reference. Your student number is included in your offer letter.
Once you have made the payment, ensure that you save a copy of the Convera online receipt if paying by credit card, or the bank receipt (TT slip) and Convera‘s confirmation email for an international telegraphic transfer payment.
Attach a copy of this proof of payment to your signed offer letter and submit both to JCU.
For further assistance using Convera, please read the User Guide.
You may also pay your fees by transferring funds electronically, directly into the following JCU account:
Bank Details: Commonwealth Bank of Australia - Townsville, Queensland, Australia 4810
Account Name: James Cook University
BSB Number: 064817
Account Number: 00050019
SWIFT Code: CTBAAU2S
You must include your student identification number as reference. Your student number is included in your offer letter.
Once you have transferred the funds, ensure that you save a copy of your deposit or transfer receipt.
Attach a copy of this proof of payment to your signed offer letter and submit both to JCU.
Obtaining a Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) for visa application
Upon receiving your signed acceptance form and confirmation of fee payment, JCU will provide you and/or your agent with an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) form. You will need the eCoE to apply for your student visa.
For information on how to apply for a student visa, please visit the Australian Government's Department of Home Affairs.
Applying for credit for previous study
Applying for credit for formal learning (previous study) or informal/non-formal learning (e.g. work experience) can help you complete your course in a shorter timeframe and save on overall course fees.
Deferring your entry
If you wish to delay commencing your course, you should contact the International Admissions team directly.
Our international admissions team will assess your eligibility to defer your offer and advise you the process to follow.
