Dr Jacqueline Lau
Theme: Livelihoods, Equity and Governance
Jacqui is an environmental social scientist and DECRA Senior Research Fellow. Her research is interdisciplinary and draws together a range of social science disciplines to examine issues of environmental justice and change in coastal communities.

Amy is an environmental social scientist, focusing on understanding the interactions between people and marine environments. Specifically, she seeks to identify socio-economic and cultural factors that influence sustainable livelihoods.
Associate Professor Naomi Gardiner

Naomi’s research focuses on fisheries and ecosystem restoration with conservation and livelihood outcomes. It is grounded in strategic capacity building and applied impact. Naomi works with stakeholders in commercial, government, science and community-based agencies in Australia, South-East Asia and the South Pacific.
Dr Sarah Lawless
Theme: Livelihoods, Equity and Governance
Dr Sarah Lawless is a marine social scientist and Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Ocean Governance. Her research investigates opportunities for social equitable governance of marine social-ecological systems. She has a particular interest in the interaction between ocean-related policies, marine institutions, climate interventions and the rights and wellbeing of coastal communities.
Dr Bethany Smith

Bethany is an applied environmental social scientist and Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Her research supports sustainable and equitable rural livelihoods in the tropics applying participatory methods, risk analysis, and spatial science. Through her work, she supports locally relevant and inclusive decision-making under complex environmental and social challenges.
