QUICK FACTS
Home to two study centres: the JCU Clinical Training Centre located at the Mater Private Hospital and the JCU Mackay Clinical School at the Mackay Base Hospital. Collectively, these study centres are known as Ngudya Yamba – meaning ‘place of knowledge’ in the local Yuwi language.
The region
Mackay is a small but mighty tropical city on Queensland’s central coast. The local area is renowned for agriculture, mining, and tourism, but it’s also one of the state’s fastest-growing regional centres. Surrounded by natural beauty – from the Great Barrier Reef to Eungella National Park – Mackay offers a relaxed lifestyle and a strong sense of community, making it a wonderful place to study and grow.
About JCU Mackay
JCU Mackay’s two study centres provide world-class training for future healthcare professionals.
