Mackay Clinical School

The Mackay Clinical School, located at the Mackay Base Hospital is one the University’s clinical training sites for the College of Medicine and Dentistry. The Medical program supports clinical training and placements for years 2, 4, 5 and 6 students across the Mackay region.  The 5th and 6th-year curriculum covers Surgery, Medicine, General Practice, Mental Health,  Reproductive and Neonatal Health, and Child & Adolescent Health. 2nd and 4th-year medical students rotate through Mackay to outer lying districts for their rural experience.  From 2021 students will also have the opportunity to study a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) degree at JCU Mackay.  The program will offer flexible study options allowing locals to stay, study and work in the region.
