JCU 2023 Law Seminar Series for Semester Two: A Recap of Insightful Discourses and Inclusive Engagement
In the wrap-up of the academic year 2023, we take a retrospective glance at the enlightening trajectory of the Law Seminar Series, reaching its pinnacle on October 26 with an engaging presentation by Townsville Barrister Justin Greggery KC, with his compelling presentation of the Royal Commission into Robodebt. With a robust virtual attendance of over 130, the discourse resonated with a diverse audience.
Comprising nine compelling seminars throughout Semester Two, the series notched up an impressive registration count of over 1100, capturing the attention of students, staff, legal enthusiasts and professionals alike.
A distinctive highlight of this semester was our steadfast commitment to inclusivity. Breaking down geographical barriers as each seminar was seamlessly live-streamed, providing accessibility to external law students, legal practitioners and the wider community. The resounding praise from external students underscores the significant value they found in participating in these high-calibre events. This initiative serves as a conduit for knowledge dissemination, fostering connectivity and offering an unmatched opportunity for legal enthusiasts to expand their intellectual horizons.
For those who may have missed any of these insightful presentations, we are delighted to announce that on-demand replays of all seminars are now available, offering viewers the flexibility to revisit favourite topics, catch up on missed sessions, or strengthen their understanding.
