Information for JCU Townsville Graduates

To comply with COVID venue requirements, graduates must register themselves and their guests via Ticketek. In the case of any health issues arising (COVID related) the primary ticket holder (graduate) would be contacted. It is then the primary ticket holder’s responsibility to contact their guests to advise them accordingly.
- Graduates must order tickets for themselves and their guests (maximum of 4 guests) via Ticketek.
- A Ticketek account is required to order tickets.
- Tickets are required for both graduates and guests in order to gain entry into the venue.

- Select the date and time of your ceremony
- enter your JCU Student ID number
- All tickets will be sent via Ticketek to the graduate by email/SMS.
- It is the graduate's responsibility to distribute tickets to their guests.
- Entry to the venue is by ticket only
- Venue will be open from 8.00am
To be able to register you must be wearing your full academic dress. Graduates will be asked to quote their graduation registration number which was emailed to them a week prior to the ceremony at the JCU Ceremony Registration Desk in order to receive their graduation card. You will need your graduation card to present before you cross the stage, so please keep this card with you at all times.

Once you have registered at the JCU Ceremony Registration Desk you will be guided to your reserved seating. All seats numbers are in the order you will walk across the stage, so it is important that you do not swap seats. If you have specific seating requirements, please advise email@example.com at your earliest convenience.
Guest tickets are complimentary and seats may not be reserved. Each graduate is allowed to bring a maximum of 4 guests. Guests can sit in any unreserved seat while observing COVID safe spacing regulations. Please reserve guest tickets via the link under 'ticket process'.
Academic Dress & Gown Hire
JCU graduates are required to wear JCU approved academic dress. Academic dress can be hired from Silver Rose.

Academic dress collection times are located below. It is recommended that graduates collect their gown as soon as they arrive at the venue to allow time for photography and registration.

Please return your hired academic dress at the completion of the ceremony. Returns will be located in the Palm Room, Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre.
Silver Rose Photography will be providing the photographic services at the graduation including portrait and family photography sessions. Only 4 guests and the graduate can feature in a family photos due to COVID requirements. Photography times are located below for each ceremony.

Cultural Sashing Ceremony
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates who have identified their heritage on Student One will be presented with a JCU Cultural Sash at informal ceremonies prior to each graduation ceremony. An invitation with details will be emailed to recipients prior to the ceremony date.

When to arrive
It is expected that graduates arrive at least two hours prior to the ceremony commencement time to allow time for parking, gown collection and photography prior to registration.
It is recommend that graduates wear clothing that is neat, smart and comfortable. You’ll need shoes that are suitable for stairs, carpet and slippery surfaces. Thongs, shorts, t-shirts, jeans and ripped clothing are not considered appropriate.
Guests are to dress smart casual.
To ensure the continued well being of all our graduates and staff, we kindly request that students doff in place of a handshake with our Chancellor.
There are no facilities available to leave any personal items (handbags/mobiles etc.). All your personal belongings must be left with guests, or you may consider clothing with a pocket under your gown.
It is anticipated the ceremony will run for approximately two hours.
All ceremonies will be live streamed via YouTube.
