Throughout the year, the JCU Innovation team will host and co-host a range of programs and workshops for JCU staff, researchers, students and members of the general public.

JCU Impact 10X Digital Health Simulator
Are you interested in developing digital solutions to advance health in rural areas?
The Northern Australian Regional Digital Health Collaboration (NARDHC) and JCU Innovation team are inviting undergraduate and postgraduate health, IT and business students, HDR candidates and professionals from the community to participate in a 3-day simulator to design, prototype and validate digital health solutions. The most compelling idea will win $10,000 in seed grant funding to help take your concept to market.
Program Details
When: 2-4 November 2022, 9am – 4pm AEST
Where: JCU Ideas Lab, Nguma-bada campus, Smithfield (*travel & accommodation sponsorships available to 10 JCU students from other Australian campuses)

Who is the program for?
The JCU Impact 10X Digital Health Simulator is for JCU students, researchers, academics, professional staff, alumni, industry professionals and anyone in the broader community who has a background in healthcare, public health, medicine, dentistry, IT and / or business.
What will participants learn?
- Actively learn how to apply creative design thinking
- Actively learn how to create a product prototype / or minimum viable product
- Actively learn how to take your idea to market
- Actively learn how to present with impact & sell your idea
- Actively learn how to apply the JCU 10 sector innovation value chain methodology to your future ideas!
Program Details:
- Opportunity to receive $10,000 to support your digital health solution
- Face-to-face delivery from 9am – 4pm on 2, 3 & 4 November 2022 at the JCU Ideas Lab
- Travel & Accommodation sponsorships available for 10 students from JCU campuses other than Cairns
- One-on-one mentorship
- Cohort-based program. Learn with others…. and from others
- Apply solo or in teams
- Available to JCU affiliates and members of the community
- Selected participants of the program will have the opportunity to join the JCU Founder-in-Residence cohort
- Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of the program
- Connect to the JCU Innovation Ecosystem and meet other founders, leaders and innovation supporters
