The JCU Ideas Lab provides a central space on the Cairns, Nguma-bada campus for students to explore innovative ideas and technologies, and feed their inner-entrepreneur. Some of today’s most iconic tech companies were founded by students while completing their degrees - and we are here to enable the next generation of innovators every step of the way.

Regardless of your chosen degree or program, the Ideas Lab team can support you along an entrepreneurial journey, or help hone the design thinking tools that employers value. We also run a series of programming designed to take you from idea inception all the way through to company scaling.

As a central hub for the startup and innovation community, we work closely with with the JCU Colleges, and JCU Careers and Employability to help open doors to internship and employment opportunities in the tech sector.
